The Computer of my Dreams.. is a Tablet.

So, to explain my blog title, I'll need to step back to October 2024. For the past few years my main laptop has been a HP with Intel Celeron and Windows 11. Yeah, um, I made a budget over performance choice. Last October the 2H24 Windows update, for all intents with OS, bricked my laptop. It simply would not update the newest update. Nice way to find out your laptop is now too old for daily use. (Hmph!) I am fan of tech now's sites and finding out how to give new life to old tech. Suffice to say I'll be turning off th WiFi and using it for offline functions. I just need a Blu-ray drive to turn it to a media centre. This had me searching for replacement. 🔎 After some searching and honsety, I found the device I needed was a tablet and Bluetooth keyboard; my perfect 'daily driver' for the internet highways and general paperwork. Sometimes I feel the need to vent or share on a smaller platform. Today was one of those days. The larger platforms are so homogenous and souless. Do I get engagement? No but that's not the point. It's just a corner to share an, maybe, have someone relate . My latest note on Substack

Did I mention that I started a new channel last post? No? Just in case, I'll update for those who came in late. I've resurrected Mum's the Witch; my vlogging channel and place to put a podcast named, "Holy Hera on a Hoover". Well, it's been lead balloon ofva venture. Motivated by the US ban of Tik Tok, I thought I would be able to keep connections going there. Then I remembered that I am a person on the internet. Social media stopped being social at least a decade ago but the community angle isn't completely lost. It's been gobbled up by the usual capitalist suspects and algorithmic pushes to a passive consumer/creator dynamic. It will bring out the insecurity and the biggest theif of joy and motivation; comparisons. Nostalgia doesn't help. My hopes for the amount of comments, shares and sense of community that fadeda decade ago didn't revive on my new channel. The motivation went quick and the "where did I go wrong" seeps in. I te...
