The Computer of my Dreams.. is a Tablet.

So, to explain my blog title, I'll need to step back to October 2024.
For the past few years my main laptop has been a HP with Intel Celeron and Windows 11. Yeah, um, I made a budget over performance choice. Last October the 2H24 Windows update, for all intents with OS, bricked my laptop. It simply would not update the newest update. Nice way to find out your laptop is now too old for daily use. (Hmph!) I am fan of tech now's sites and finding out how to give new life to old tech. Suffice to say I'll be turning off th WiFi and using it for offline functions. I just need a Blu-ray drive to turn it to a media centre. This had me searching for replacement. 🔎
After some searching and honsety, I found the device I needed was a tablet and Bluetooth keyboard; my perfect 'daily driver' for the internet highways and general paperwork. Enter Lenovo Tab M10 and the Anko Bluetooth keyboard. Kmart has some cheap and cheerful tech accessories. The photos in his blog have been taken with the tablet. The low megapixel cameras does give a Y2K vibe. 📸 The resolution is doable for video calling and retro style digital photography. Honestly, it's nice to get back to a lower resoltuion just for the file space alone.
The M10 has a internal HDD of 128 gig with a micro SD slot for expandable memory (I have a 256 Gig in that slot) or phone SIM card for internet data. I highly recommend a tougher cover than the rubber stand cover included in box. It's also lovely to have a charger plug in box over just the USB-C to USB-A cable. Not everyone has powerboards that have USB plugs. I  will eventually when the powerboards give up the ghost. I'm thinking of the desktop blocks because these charger cables are so damn short! As you an see  in the photo,I need and extention coor to charge up and devices. I think the future of powerboards will be more space saving and more accessible than the floor. Dear Gods! Has this elder Gen X-er become that old already? I'm only 56 years old! 😅
Nevertheless I'm happy with my "ultimate 2-in-1 under A$350.00" setup. I might replace the SD card with a SIM card in the future but that unlikely. UnIess I find a way to make phone calls on a tablet.Scratch that; moblie phones are still the monarch of portablabilty. Now if someone can kindly resurrect the Blackberry style QWERTY keybaords for mobiles I can unplug from the web when I am out and about. I can't bring myself to go back to T9 typing. Instead, Ihave the bare minimum of apps my phone with the intent of my phone of more for daily tasks than entertaimnent.
Overall, my goal to find a digital life/IRL balance is coming in to fruition thank to this 10.1 inch device.
BEHOLD! It's the android powered counterpart to an iPad at only a quarter of the price. Better still, you don't have to pay a Samsung or Google price to do it. Photo taken with my Motorola G54 5G phone. Motorola is a brand of Lenovo.
